Ingredients:

  • For the Chicken:
    • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tbsp butter
  • For the Sauce:
    • 3 tbsp honey
    • 3 tbsp soy sauce
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
    • 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • For Garnish:
    • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
    • If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add it to the sauce. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  4. Glaze the Chicken:
    • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to coat well. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle the chicken with chopped green onions.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.

Tips:

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
  • For a caramelized finish, broil the chicken in the oven for 2-3 minutes after glazing.
