Bacon Cheddar Donut Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 glazed donuts
- 4 slices of crispy bacon
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for cooking
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bacon:
- Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
- Prepare the Egg:
- In the same skillet, melt a little butter and fry the egg to your liking (sunny side up, over easy, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Cut the glazed donuts in half horizontally.
- In the skillet, lightly toast the cut sides of the donut halves until they are golden brown.
- Layer the Ingredients:
- Place one half of the donut, cut side up, on a plate.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese.
- Place two slices of crispy bacon on top of the cheese.
- Add the fried egg on top of the bacon.
- Add another slice of cheddar cheese.
- Top with the other half of the donut, cut side down.
- Melt the Cheese:
- If you prefer the cheese to be more melted, you can place the assembled sandwich back into the skillet for a minute or two on low heat, covering it with a lid to help melt the cheese.
- Serve:
- Serve the sandwich immediately while it’s warm and the cheese is melty.
