Bacon-Wrapped Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs
Ingredients:
- For the Meatballs:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef
- 1/2 cup (50g) breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 small cubes of cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- For the Wrapping:
- 12 slices of bacon
- For the Topping:
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Make the Meatball Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the Meatballs:
- Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your hand.
- Place a cube of cheese in the center and wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball. Make sure the cheese is completely covered.
- Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and cheese cubes to form 12 meatballs.
- Wrap with Bacon:
- Wrap each meatball with a slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
- Bake the Meatballs:
- Place the bacon-wrapped meatballs in a baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the meatballs are cooked through.
- Add the Cheese:
- Remove the meatballs from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Remove the toothpicks (if used) and garnish the meatballs with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or main dish.
