Barbecue Ribs with Sweet and Smoky Glaze Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Ribs:

  • 2 racks of pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Dry Rub:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional, for extra smoky flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning penetration and tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. Apply the Dry Rub:
    • In a small bowl, combine all the dry rub ingredients. Mix well.
    • Rub the olive oil over both sides of the ribs. Generously sprinkle the dry rub over both sides of the ribs, pressing it in to adhere.
  3. Bake the Ribs:
    • Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  4. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and liquid smoke (if using). Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the glaze is well combined and slightly thickened.
  5. Glaze and Grill the Ribs:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
    • Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil. Brush both sides of the ribs with the glaze.
    • Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 5-10 minutes per side, brushing with more glaze as they cook, until the ribs are nicely caramelized and slightly charred.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side if desired.

Enjoy your delicious barbecue ribs with a sweet and smoky glaze, perfect for a summer cookout or any time you crave some mouthwatering barbecue!
