Ingredients
To get started, gather the following ingredients:
• For the brownie:
• 1 cup (225 g) salted butter, melted
• 2 cups (400 g) pure sugar
• large egg
• large spoon vanilla extract
• 1 water cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
• 1 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• Decoration:
• 1 glass chocolate chips or chocolate particles
• 1/2 cup caramel sauce
• 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)
• For topping:
• 1/2 cup dark chocolate, melted
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil
• For garnish :
• Sea salt
• Ground hazelnuts or sprinkles
Equipment
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
• 8 x 8 cm baking tray
• Parchment paper
• Mixing bowl
• Mixer or electric mixer
• Pan or spoon
• Double oven or microwave (to melt chocolate)
• Cooling Rack
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Base
1. Preheat your oven to 175°C and line the baking tray with baking paper, leaving some flexibility for easy removal.
2. Mix butter and melted sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue beating until well combined.
3. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Mix the ingredients with a spatula until combined.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out small.
5. Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 2: Making the bombs
1. After it has cooled, remove the cake from the mold with baking paper. Crush the brown sugar in a large bowl.
2. Take the brownie crumbs and spread them in your hand. Place a small amount of chocolate chips, some caramel and a pinch of hazelnuts in the middle.
3. Draw a circle around the filling and form a ball. Make sure the filling is completely covered with the brownie mixture.
4. Repeat until all of the mixture is used. Place these brownie bombs in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.
Step 3: Cover and decorate
1. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil briefly in a double boiler or in the microwave and stir until smooth.
2. Using a fork, dip each brownie bomb into the melted chocolate, making sure it is completely covered. Remove excess chocolate.
3. Apply a coverslip to skin that is stuck to the skin or cold. While the chocolate is wet, sprinkle with sea salt and anything else you like.
4. Refrigerate for 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
