Caramelized Bananas Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2-3 ripe bananas (not overly soft)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- Slice Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into even rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Melt Butter: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Let it melt completely.
- Add Sugar and Vanilla: Sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter. Stir gently until the sugar starts to dissolve and create a syrupy texture. Add vanilla extract for flavor.
- Cook Bananas: Add the banana slices to the skillet, arranging them in a single layer. Let them cook for about 1-2 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip Gently: Carefully flip the banana slices using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve warm. You can enjoy these caramelized bananas as a topping for pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or eat them on their own.
