Cheeseburger Sliders Casserole

Cheeseburger Sliders Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Filling:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.
- Season the beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and drain any excess fat.
2. Assemble the Sliders:
- Split the slider buns or Hawaiian rolls in half. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the mayonnaise evenly on the bottom halves of the buns.
- Spoon the ground beef mixture evenly over the buns.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the ground beef.
- Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese.
3. Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and mustard.
- Spread this mixture evenly over the tops of the buns.
4. Bake the Sliders:
- Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
5. Serve:

- Cut into individual sliders and serve warm.
