Cheesy Beef Macaroni Bake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) macaroni pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef or shredded cooked beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup (60 g) breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. If using shredded cooked beef, add it here and heat through.
- Make the Cheese Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer.
- Gradually add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
- Assemble the Bake:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, beef mixture, and cheese sauce. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Prepare the Topping:
- In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the pasta mixture.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
- Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
