Cheesy Garlic Rolls Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Add the milk gradually, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Form the Rolls:
    • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough a few times, then roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese evenly over the dough.
    • Roll the dough up like a jelly roll, starting from one of the long sides.
    • Cut the rolled dough into 1-inch thick slices.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the slices cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
    • In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.
    • Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle the garlic-Parmesan mixture over them.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the rolls warm. They make a great side dish or appetizer.
