Classic Banana Bread
Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/2 cup for a less sweet bread)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Add the flour last, and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove from oven and let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes.
- Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
