Classic Chocolate Fudge
Ingredients:
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: nuts, sea salt, or sprinkles
Instructions:
- Prepare the pan:
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the lining.
- Melt the ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
- Stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
- Add flavor:
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- If using any mix-ins (e.g., nuts), fold them in at this stage.
- Pour and set:
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
- Smooth the top with a spatula and add any toppings like crushed nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
- Slice and serve:
- Once set, use the overhanging foil or parchment to lift the fudge out of the pan.
- Cut into small squares and enjoy.
