Classic Chocolate Fudge

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: nuts, sea salt, or sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the lining.
  2. Melt the ingredients:
    • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
    • Stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add flavor:
    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
    • If using any mix-ins (e.g., nuts), fold them in at this stage.
  4. Pour and set:
    • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
    • Smooth the top with a spatula and add any toppings like crushed nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt.
  5. Chill:
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  6. Slice and serve:
    • Once set, use the overhanging foil or parchment to lift the fudge out of the pan.
    • Cut into small squares and enjoy.
