Classic Lemon Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, cream, and sugar. Whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add Flavor: Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
- Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours until it is thoroughly chilled.
- Churn: Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Freeze: Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.
- Serve: Scoop and serve with additional lemon zest or fresh lemon slices for garnish.
Lemon Curd Swirl Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup lemon curd
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the Base: In a large bowl, whisk together cream, milk, and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- Churn: Pour the base mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until almost done.
- Add Lemon Curd: During the last few minutes of churning, add the lemon curd and lemon zest to the ice cream and allow to swirl through.
- Freeze: Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until solid, about 4 hours.
