Classic Meatloaf with Glaze
Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Glaze:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Meatloaf:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until all ingredients are well combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Shape the Meatloaf:
- Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
- Press the mixture down firmly and shape it evenly.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir until smooth and well combined.
- Glaze the Meatloaf:
- Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake the Meatloaf:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve:
- Slice the meatloaf and serve with your favorite side dishes.
