Creamy Fruit Salad Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, halved
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fruit:
    • Drain the pineapple chunks and mandarin oranges well to avoid excess liquid in the salad.
    • Halve the maraschino cherries and set aside.
  2. Mix the Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, halved maraschino cherries, miniature marshmallows, and sweetened shredded coconut.
  3. Add the Creamy Base:
    • Gently fold in the sour cream and whipped topping until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Chill the Salad:
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill.
  5. Serve:
    • Before serving, give the salad a gentle stir. Serve chilled as a refreshing dessert or side dish.
