For Garnishing
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Extra grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation Steps
- Cook the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Prepare the broccoli. Add the broccoli florets to the boiling pasta water during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain with the pasta and set aside.
- Season the chicken. Pat the chicken strips dry and season evenly with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Sear the chicken. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through to 165°F (74°C). Transfer to a plate.
- Prepare the garlic butter. Reduce the heat to medium-low and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Make the Alfredo sauce. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning and black pepper. Simmer gently for 3–4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Add the Parmesan cheese. Reduce the heat to low and gradually stir in the grated Parmesan until melted and smooth. Season with additional salt if needed.
- Combine the pasta and broccoli. Add the cooked fettuccine and broccoli to the skillet. Toss gently until everything is coated in the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
- Finish with chicken. Return the golden chicken strips to the skillet and gently toss or arrange them over the pasta. Warm everything together for another minute.
- Serve and garnish. Transfer the creamy pasta to a large serving dish. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese before serving.
