Crispy Cauliflower Balls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 medium cauliflower head, cut into florets
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (parmesan or your preferred cheese)
- 2 eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cauliflower:
- Wash the cauliflower and cut it into florets.
- Boil the cauliflower florets in salted water for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain well and let cool.
- Mash the Cauliflower:
- Mash the cooked cauliflower using a fork or potato masher until it has a coarse texture.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed cauliflower, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Beat the eggs and add them to the mixture. Mix until it forms a dough-like consistency.
- Shape into Balls:
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls (about 1-2 inches in diameter).
- Fry the Balls:
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the cauliflower balls until golden and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking. This usually takes 3-5 minutes per batch.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve:
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce like marinara, garlic aioli, or ranch.
