Crispy Glazed Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs (about 1 kg) chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Oil for frying

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot for Buffalo wings)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup honey (for a honey glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Wings:
    • In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    • Toss the chicken wings in the flour mixture until well coated. Shake off any excess flour and set aside.
  2. Fry the Wings:
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the wings in batches, avoiding overcrowding, for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
    • Stir in the hot sauce, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
  4. Coat the Wings:
    • Place the fried wings in a large bowl and pour the glaze over them.
    • Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the glaze.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the glazed wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing, and celery sticks.

Enjoy these crispy and flavorful wings as a perfect appetizer or game-day snack! Let me know if you need any more variations or tips.
