Garlic Steak and Potato Foil Packs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank steak work well), cut into cubes approximately 1 inch in size
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, washed and diced into pieces about 1 inch in size
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Your Grill or Oven: Before you begin preparing your foil packs, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using an oven, preheat it to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare Foil Packs: Tear off four large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil, each approximately 12×12 inches in size. Lay these pieces flat on your kitchen counter or another clean surface.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed steak, diced potatoes, thinly sliced onion, minced garlic, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper. Use a spoon or your hands to toss the ingredients together until everything is evenly coated with the seasonings and sauces.
  4. Divide the Mixture: Evenly divide the seasoned steak and potato mixture among the four foil pieces, placing it in the center of each square of foil.
  5. Wrap the Foil Packs: Carefully fold the sides of each foil piece up and over the ingredients, making sure to cover them completely. Then, fold the top and bottom edges of the foil to seal the packets securely. You want to create a tight seal to keep all the juices and flavors inside during cooking.
  6. Cook the Foil Packs: Once your foil packs are securely wrapped, place them directly on the preheated grill grates or on a baking sheet if you’re using the oven. Cook the foil packs for approximately 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. This ensures even cooking and prevents any one side from becoming too crispy.
  7. Serve: After the cooking time is up, carefully remove the foil packs from the grill or oven. Be cautious when opening them, as hot steam will escape. Transfer the contents of each foil pack to individual plates or bowls. If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for a burst of color and flavor.

Enjoy your delicious garlic steak and potato foil packs straight from the grill or oven! They’re a flavorful and convenient meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or relaxed weekends spent outdoors.
