Homemade Peach Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Ice Cream Base:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For the Peach Mixture:
- 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prepare the Peach Mixture:
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped peaches, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well and let sit for about 30 minutes to macerate. This will help to release the juices from the peaches.
- After 30 minutes, mash the peaches slightly with a fork or potato masher, leaving some chunks for texture. Set aside.
- Prepare the Ice Cream Base:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add the mashed peach mixture (including the juices) to the ice cream base and mix well.
- Chill the Mixture:
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour, or until it is well chilled. Chilling the mixture helps it freeze faster and better in the ice cream maker.
- Churn the Ice Cream:
- Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes, depending on your ice cream maker.
- Freeze the Ice Cream:
- Once the ice cream is churned to a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container.
- Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the ice cream to prevent ice crystals from forming, and then cover with the container lid.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Serve:
- Scoop the peach ice cream into bowls or cones.
- Garnish with fresh peach slices if desired.
Enjoy your homemade peach ice cream, a perfect blend of creamy texture and sweet, juicy peaches! This delightful treat is sure to be a hit with family and friends.
