1 whole puff pastry sheet, thawed
Pastry cream
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons corn starch
3 egg yolks , beaten
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup arequipe or dulce de leche

PREPARE WORK :
1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
2. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper and set aside.
3. Cut the bread dough into 3 rows according to the markings. Place it on the baking tray and poke two holes in each dough using a fork. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow online cooling.
4. Place the milk in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
5. Slowly add corn mixture to milk and cook, stirring frequently, for about 6 minutes or until thickened. Beat in the egg yolk and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
6. Add vanilla sticks and butter and remove from heat.
7. Allow to cool to room temperature, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
