Nutella-Filled Croissants Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella or other chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
    • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
    • Cut the puff pastry into triangles. You can usually get 6-8 triangles from one sheet.
  3. Fill the Croissants:
    • Place a teaspoon of Nutella at the wide end of each triangle.
    • Roll up the triangles, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Curve the ends slightly to form a crescent shape.
  4. Egg Wash:
    • Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg to give them a glossy finish.
  5. Bake the Croissants:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and puffed up.
    • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
  6. Add the Finishing Touches:
    • Drizzle the caramel sauce over the warm croissants.
    • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
