Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating, optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut or orange zest (for garnish)

  1. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a heatproof bowl, combine the white chocolate, heavy cream, and butter.
    • Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
    • Alternatively, microwave the mixture in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until melted.
  2. Add Orange Flavor:
    • Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and combined.
  3. Chill the Mixture:
    • Transfer the mixture to a shallow dish, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm enough to handle.
  4. Shape the Truffles:
    • Scoop small portions of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into balls using your hands.
  5. Coat the Truffles:
    • Roll the truffles in powdered sugar, shredded coconut, or additional orange zest for a decorative and flavorful coating.
  6. Optional Decoration:
    • Melt additional white chocolate and drizzle it over the truffles for a polished look.
  7. Chill Again:
    • Place the truffles in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to set.
