Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken

    • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and oregano.
  2. Heat the Pan

    • Place a pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil or butter.
    • Let it heat for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
  3. Cook the Chicken

    • Place the chicken breasts in the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes on one side without moving them.
    • Flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes on the other side.
  4. Check for Doneness

    • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature—it should be at least 165°F (75°C).
    • If needed, cover the pan and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Rest and Serve

    • Remove from the pan and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
    • Drizzle with lemon juice and serve with your favorite side dish.
