Pineapple Cheese Ball

Ingredients:

  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained well
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed pecans or your choice of crunchy topping (like pretzels)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and drained crushed pineapple. Mix until smooth and well combined.
    • Add the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bell pepper, red onion, parsley (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until evenly distributed.
  2. Shape the Cheese Ball:
    • Transfer the cheese mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Gather the edges of the plastic wrap around the mixture and shape it into a ball or oval shape.
    • Once shaped, wrap the cheese ball tightly in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  3. Coat the Cheese Ball:
    • Once the cheese ball is firm, remove it from the refrigerator. Unwrap it and roll it in the crushed pecans (or chosen topping) until it’s completely coated.
  4. Serve:
    • Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
    • Serve with crackers, sliced vegetables, or fruit slices for dipping.

Notes:

  • For a sweeter twist, you can add a bit of powdered sugar to the cheese mixture, or include additional pineapple tidbits.
  • This cheese ball can be made a day ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

This Pineapple Cheese Ball is a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, making it a great appetizer for parties, gatherings, or holiday celebrations. Enjoy!
