Ingredients:

  • 9-12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup green peas (frozen or fresh)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup béchamel sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Pasta: Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  3. Prepare Meat Sauce:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
    • Add the ground meat, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
    • Mix in the green peas and marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Assemble Lasagna:
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
    • Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce.
    • Add a layer of meat sauce, then spoon béchamel sauce over it.
    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
    • Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with béchamel sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
