Rich Chocolate Fudge Brownies

 

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • Chocolate curls or shavings

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Brownies:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and whisk until well combined.
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped semi-sweet chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Allow the ganache to cool slightly until it thickens to a spreadable consistency.
  3. Assemble the Brownies:
    • Once the brownies are completely cooled, pour the ganache over the top, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
    • Let the ganache set for a few minutes, then sprinkle with chocolate curls or shavings.
  4. Serve:
    • Cut the brownies into squares and serve.
