Slow-Cooked BBQ Beef Ribs
Ingredients:
- 4 lbs beef back ribs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Season the beef ribs generously with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs on all sides until they are browned. This helps to lock in the flavor.
- Transfer the seared ribs to a large roasting pan or a slow cooker.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Pour in the beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the smoked paprika, mustard powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well.
- Pour the sauce over the ribs in the roasting pan or slow cooker.
- If using a roasting pan, cover it tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is falling off the bone.
- If using a slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the pan or slow cooker and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the slow-cooked BBQ beef ribs with extra BBQ sauce on the side and your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, mashed potatoes, or cornbread.
Enjoy your delicious slow-cooked BBQ beef ribs!
