Vanilla Cupcake Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. Add butter, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among the liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Black Sesame Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons black sesame seeds, plus extra for sprinkling

Directions:

  1. Follow the vanilla cupcake recipe, adding the black sesame seeds to the batter just before mixing.
  2. Fill the cupcake liners with the sesame-studded batter.
  3. Sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top of each cupcake before baking.
  4. Bake as directed in the vanilla recipe.
