Cheese and Potato Fritters

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups grated potatoes (or mashed, if preferred)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella works well)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh dill (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mixture:
    • Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess water using a towel if using raw potatoes.
    • In a bowl, mix the potatoes, cheese, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  2. Shape the Fritters:
    • Take a spoonful of the mixture and shape it into small patties or fritters.
  3. Fry:
    • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the fritters until golden and crispy on each side (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  4. Drain:
    • Place the cooked fritters on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh dill and serve warm with sour cream, a dipping sauce, or as a side dish.
