Classic Banana Bread

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/2 cup for a less sweet bread)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
    • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
    • Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
    • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
    • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
    • Add the flour last, and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Cool and Serve:
    • Remove from oven and let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes.
    • Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
