Crispy Glazed Fried Chicken Wings

 

Ingredients:

  • For the Chicken Wings:
    • 2 pounds chicken wings, cut into drumettes and flats
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup cornstarch
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • Oil for frying
  • For the Glaze:
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Coat the chicken wings in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  2. Fry the Chicken:
    • Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the wings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per batch. Make sure the chicken is cooked through.
    • Remove the wings and drain them on paper towels.
  3. Make the Glaze:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Coat the Wings:
    • Place the fried chicken wings in a large bowl.
    • Pour the glaze over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the glazed chicken wings immediately. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main dish.
