Crispy Glazed Fried Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
- For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 pounds chicken wings, cut into drumettes and flats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Oil for frying
- For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Coat the chicken wings in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Fry the Chicken:
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per batch. Make sure the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the wings and drain them on paper towels.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Coat the Wings:
- Place the fried chicken wings in a large bowl.
- Pour the glaze over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
- Serve:
- Serve the glazed chicken wings immediately. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main dish.
