Homemade Whipped Cream

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (chilled)
  • 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar (or granulated sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Equipment:
    • Place your mixing bowl and beaters (or whisk attachment if using a stand mixer) in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to chill. This helps the cream whip up faster and achieve better volume.
  2. Combine Ingredients:
    • Pour the chilled heavy whipping cream into the chilled mixing bowl.
    • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract (if using).
  3. Whip the Cream:
    • Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the cream mixture until it begins to thicken.
    • Increase the speed to high and continue beating until stiff peaks form. This means the cream will hold its shape when the beaters are lifted out of the bowl.
  4. Serve:
    • Use the whipped cream immediately, or store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

Tips:

  • Be careful not to overwhip the cream, as it can turn into butter.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
  • This whipped cream can be used to top desserts, pies, cakes, hot cocoa, or as a filling for pastries.
