Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf is officially our new favorite meatloaf in our house. We’ve been enjoying Philly cheesesteak all summer and this meatloaf simply replaces our previous favorites.
Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
What is the great city of Philadelphia famous for? The Rocky films, the Liberty Bell and of course the delicious Philly Cheesesteak. A traditional cheesesteak is a sandwich made with thinly sliced beef, onions, and melted cheese on a long bun.It was actually developed about a century ago by Italian immigrants to
the region who served chopped steak on an Italian-style bun, and quickly became popular. This comforting and delicious fast food became an instant American classic, and despite the name, Philly cheesesteaks can be found almost everywhere these days.

1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
8 ounces mushrooms, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 pounds ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/ 2 cups Cheese (optional)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 eggs
1 cup panko breadcrumbs (gluten-free, gluten-free)
4 ounces provolone cheese (optional)
8 slices provolone cheese
Directions Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the onions, peppers and mushrooms and cook until softened, about 7-10 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about a minute, before removing from the heat.
Mix together the meat, salt, pepper, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, eggs, breadcrumbs and the cooked mixture of onions, peppers, mushrooms and garlic.Place the mixture half side down, place the solid piece of provolone in the center, cover with the remaining mixture, seal the edges tightly, shape the bread as desired and place on a baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 50-60 minutes until everything is cooked through.
Spread the sliced provolone cheese on the bread, return to the oven and grill until the cheese is melted, about 2 to 4 minutes.
