Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
8 oz elbow macaroni
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
½ cup barbecue sauce
½ cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the macaroni in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for another minute, then drain excess grease.
Stir in the tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the cooked macaroni and half of both cheeses. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated and creamy.
Transfer to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella over the top and drizzle with a little extra barbecue sauce if desired.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbling with a golden, melted cheese topping. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Serving Tip
Serve hot with a simple green salad or garlic bread for a complete comfort-food dinner.
